It looked like disaster for Real Madrid. Then, Los Blancos found what worked and stuck with it.
Goals from corner kicks in the 83rd, 85th and 90th minute powered Real Madrid past Roma, 4-3, in a UEFA Champions League league phase match on Wednesday, Oct. 14.
It appeared that Roma would secure an upset win after Donyell Malen scored a quick-fire double in the 51st and 58th minute to give the home side a 3-1 lead.
But as the match entered its final 10 minutes, Madrid produced an epic comeback.

The victory keeps Los Blancos in the top
eight of the 36-team table after two matches, which would see them move into the round of 16 if they can keep that place.
For now, Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho will be focused on enjoying the rally from his team past his another one of his former employers. The first half saw Roma and Madrid trade goals, with Kylian Mbappe scoring from outside the box to move into fifth all-time on the UEFA Champions League scoring charts.

But after the Serie A side got a double from Dutch forward Malen, it looked like the Spanish side would be tasting defeat.
Instead, the corner kick routines were perfect with the first one played short then knocked in by Carlos Espi after Roma goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini pushed it into his path, the equalizer headed directly in by Endrick and the third seeing Antonio Rudiger use his right foot to snap the ball past Gollini.
Real Madrid now returns to league play against Sevilla, then prepares for more Champions League action and El Clásico with Barcelona - though it will play its next four league matches without the suspended Vini Jr.
