Keke Palmer and her 3-year-old son Leo might have already won Halloween this year.
The Emmy-winning host, 33, and her only child recreated Janet Jackson
and Michael Jackson's 1995 music video for "Scream," from the thrilling choreography and monochrome looks to the electric energy. Fully committed to the bit, the "Nope" actress donned futuristic costumes with accurate Jackson hairstyles in the video, which, like the original, was in black-and-white."Happy Halloween from me && my mini me!! That iPad is a life saver omg," she wrote the video caption. "I haven’t stopped laughing. 🎃✨🤣."
Keke went solo with the choreography at times as her son is seen sitting with his iPad watching his mother channel the "That’s the Way Love Goes" singer.
The comment section is filled with praise for the mother-son duo understanding the assignment, including from Janet Jackson herself, who shared a heart emoji.
Another commenter warned Palmer that Leo's star power may already be outshining her, quipping, "Girl, he’s outperforming you. You need to fight for your spot."
"Not him with the tablet watching you twirl," "RuPaul's Drag Race" star Vanessa Vanjie commented.
Keke Palmer explains how she shows up for son Leo
Palmer has opened up about what surprised her about motherhood since welcoming her son in February 2023 with ex-boyfriend Darius Jackson.
"I created a little person thing, and watching them grow up, I don't really think I thought about all the ways that I would see my life reflected back to me through helping this child become their own person, and the realities of them being their own person," she recently told USA TODAY.
She said her "real job" is making sure she is holding, protecting and supporting her son, adding, "Being informed and having the resources is a big way that I want to show up, and that I try to show up for Leo." She also condemned "mom-shaming" and said society should have bigger discussions that aren't about "trying to prove each other wrong, but to get the best information out of the conversation."
"We've lost the art of that because there's so much nuance that's lost on the internet. Whether it's a topic like this or something in pop culture on my podcast, I'm always trying to fill in that gray space. Not because I have a problem with discernment or having an opinion, but because sometimes exploration is actually more of the point," she said.
