Los Angeles Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson has prevailed in his appeal of a two-game suspension doled out by the NFL. Jackson's suspension has been reduced to one game, the league announced Wednesday.
The 28-year-old offensive lineman got into a physical altercation with Bradley Chubb at the end of the Rams' 37-34 loss to the Buffalo Bills on "Monday Night Football." Jackson swapped jerseys with Bills defensive lineman Deone Walker on the field, during which Chubb was spotted on camera appearing to yell and point at Jackson. Jackson walked up to and confronted the 30-year-old edge rusher and, following a brief exchange of words, Chubb pointed in Jackson's face.
Jackson, in turn, responded by swinging on Chubb.

The NFL did not immediately announce whether Jackson would be suspended for his postgame punch of Chubb. However, NFL Media's Mike Garafolo reported the league was expected to review the altercation for potential discipline.
"Actions on the field, whether they're pregame, during the game, postgame, are reviewed by the NFL for potential discipline," Garafolo said during an appearance on NFL Network's "Good Morning Football." "So, that is expected to be the case here for Jackson."
The NFL eventually handed out the two-game suspension without pay to Jackson on Tuesday, but Jackson appealed. Pro Football Hall of Famer Derrick Brooks served as the hearing officer and made the decision to reduce the suspension. Jackson will still miss the Rams' Week 6 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, but will be back in time for Week 7 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Alaric Jackson's suspension history
This isn't Jackson's first time being disciplined by the league office. In 2024, he was suspended for two games for a violation of the NFL's personal conduct policy. Jackson was also arrested and faced potential domestic violence charges this offseason but has yet to face any punishment from the league related to the allegations.
Who will replace Alaric Jackson?
Veteran offensive tackle David Quessenberry will be the next man up at tackle for the Rams after Jackson's suspension.
Quessenberry, a 36-year-old veteran, has appeared in 102 games with 30 starts since being a sixth-round selection in the 2013 NFL Draft. He is in his second season with the Rams after previously spending time with the Houston Texans, Tennessee Titans, Buffalo Bills and Minnesota Vikings.
Jackson will now be eligible to return to the Rams’ active roster on Monday, Oct. 19.
