More than 30 years ago, Jerry Garcia had a vision to keep the legacy of The Grateful Dead alive.
Soon, his dream will become reality with the opening of Eyes of the World: The Jerry Garcia Experience. The 40,000-square-foot touring event, described as experiential and immersive, will open at a yet-to-be-determined location in San Francisco in early 2027.
The exhibition, sanctioned by his estate through Jerry Garcia Music Arts LLC, will blend music, art and cultural influences as well an animated film and live performances from Jerry Garcia tribute bands.
Dates for other cities including Chicago, Nashville, New York and Los Angeles, along with specific San Francisco dates and ticket information, will be announced in the coming months.

Garcia’s daughter, Keelin Garcia, said in a statement that the production was her father’s “dream project. Bringing it to life as he imagined is a deeply meaningful experience.”
Garcia, the iconic frontman and cofounder of The Grateful Dead, died Aug. 9, 1995 at the age of 53.
A team of multimedia artists and producer Cary Granat are working with Keelin and Garcia’s wife, Manasha Garcia, to bring Jerry Garcia’s blueprint to life.
Guests will walk through a portal that takes them through Golden Gate Park and the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood, circa 1966. The journey unfolds across eight immersive rooms, with each one exploring facets of Garcia’s life and artistry, from the formative San Francisco years to pioneering work in sound technology and visual art. Humanitarian efforts and life philosophies, as well as Garcia's passions for scuba diving and ocean conservation.
A portion of ticket proceeds will support arts education, music initiatives and environmental conservation through the Jerry Garcia Foundation.
“Jerry's artistic genius contributed to one of the most inspired movements in music and culture, built on openness, community and connection to one another,” said Manasha Garcia, who is also cofounder of the Jerry Garcia Foundation. “We hope those who visit Eyes of the World find a little of that inspiration and joy in this experience.”
