With the announcement that Stan Kroenke is purchasing the Los Angeles Angels from Arte Moreno for $4 billion, there is a shake-up in the list of most expensive professional sports team sales.

Last summer, the team was purchased by Mark Walter from the Buss family for $10 billion, making it the highest sale for a North American sports team in history. Earlier this month, former Disney CEO Bob Iger and venture capitalist Josh Kushner bought the Lakers, upping the ante to $12 billion.
