Wednesday night's Concacaf Caribbean Cup action saw perhaps the slowest penalty run-up of all time.
It did not work.
Jamaican side Mount Pleasant took a first-half lead over Club Sando from Trinidad and Tobago in the first leg of their semifinal tie. Later in the half, Mount Pleasant had a chance to double the lead when it was awarded a penalty.
Trayvone Reid stepped up to take the penalty, and then proceeded to take the concept of a stutter-step to a previously undiscovered level. Reid slowly — and we do mean slowly — stuttered up to the spot, leaving every player and goalkeeper Teshorne Ragoo to wonder when exactly he would actually take the kick.
Eventually, Reid took his penalty. It was not a good one. Ragoo made an easy save, preserving the
one-goal deficit.
You’ve seen stutter step penalties but how about this stutter walk penalty in the Caribbean Cup semifinal?

That miss would prove costly as Club Sando would rally for a second-half equalizer, earning a 1-1 draw ahead of the second leg on Thursday, Oct. 22 in Kingston, Jamaica.
The winner will face the winner of Jamaican side Portmore United's semifinal against Haitian side Violette in the final in December.
