After a quiet few months on the recruiting trail, Kentucky's 2027 basketball recruiting class finally added another piece and it's one of the biggest players in the cycle.
Rival's Joe Tipton reported on Wednesday that 7-foot-5 center Cherif Millogo announced his commitment to the Wildcats. Millogo held offers from other notable programs, including Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, BYU, USC, and others.
A standout at St. Francis (La Canada Flintridge, CA), Millogo is ranked as the No. 36 overall prospect in the USA TODAY Sports composite ranking for the 2027 class. He checks in as the No. 5 center and No. 2 player in California.
Last season, he was one of California's most efficient players, averaging 26 points, 13 rebounds, and five blocks per game.
Before that, Millogo was at Cambridge ATS in Massachusetts but did not play his sophomore year after suffering a knee injury.
Millogo's commitment to Kentucky comes a few weeks after he took an official visit to Lexington. He most recently visited BYU and USC, but neither visit stuck as much as the Oct. 10 trip to Kentucky.
Now with Millogo committed, Kentucky has a pair of commitments in its 2027 class. Five-star shooting guard Ryan Hampton announced his commitment to the Wildcats in June.
Hampton enters the class ranked No. 22 in the latest composite ranking. According to 247Sports, Kentucky's current class ranks No. 11 nationally.
