We aren’t generally given to hyperbole around these parts – oh, who are we kidding? We’re all about hyperbole – and alliteration. And the upcoming weekend in college football is a downright doozy. Our panel of pigskin prognosticators will have plenty to ponder.
A pair of top-10 showdowns headline the slate. No. 4 Indiana hosts No. 5 Ohio State in this week’s game of the century in the Big Ten. Out west, No. 2 Notre Dame pays a visit to No. 8 Brigham Young in a battle for the soul of the nation – or at least a playoff resume boost.
Of course, there is also a lot of activity in the SEC. It’s the third Saturday in October, so that meansNo. 7 Alabama will be heading to Knoxville to take on No. 14 Tennessee. Elsewhere around the league, No. 13 Missouri
visits No. 10 Ole Miss, No. 21 LSU hosts No. 19 Mississippi State, and No. 6 Texas hosts Florida with both teams in desperate need of a bounce-back performance.
Not to be outdone, there’s a ranked clash in the Big 12 as No. 20 Oklahoma State visits Houston, and a rivalry game in the ACC as No. 3 Miami (Fla.) hosts Florida State. Read on to see how our staffers think those contests will unfold, and whether or not there might be other surprises in the top 25.
