The long-awaited SpongeBob x One Piece McDonald's Happy Meal will soon be available.
Starting Tuesday, Sept. 15, McDonald's will begin offering Happy Meal toys that combines one of the most popular anime in the world and one of the most popular cartoons in the world.
"For the first time ever, two of the most iconic franchises of the ocean are coming together for one treasure-filled adventure," McDonald's stated in a news release.
The toys feature SpongeBob characters dressed as One Piece characters and come on the heels of a McDonald's Hello Kitty x Godzilla Happy Meal, which became available Aug. 18. It included eight toys showcasing Hello Kitty characters dressed as monsters from the Godzilla movies.

What toys can you get with the SpongeBob x One Piece Happy Meal?
The toys in the entire SpongeBob x One Piece McDonald's collection include the following:
- SpongeBob: Dressed as Monkey D. Luffy
- SpongeBob (two SpongeBob toys will be included in the collection): Dressed as Gear 5 Luffy
- Patrick: Dressed as Roronoa Zoro
- Sandy: Dressed as Nami
- Plankton: Dressed as Usopp
- Squidward: Dressed as Sanji
- Gary: Dressed as Chopper
- Pearl: Dressed as Robin
- Larry the Lobster: Dressed as Franky
- Smitty Werbenjagermanjensen: Dressed as Brooke
- Mr. Krabs: Dressed as Jinbe
- Mermaid Man: Dressed as Monkey D. Garp
- Barnacle Boy: Dressed as Koby
- Mrs. Puff: Dressed as Charlotte LinLin (a.k.a. Big Mom)
- The Flying Dutchman: Dressed as Marshall D. Teach (a.k.a. Blackbeard)
The collection includes 15 toys, which will be available at participating restaurants nationwide.
Both franchises have had previous collabs with restaurant chains
In April, Popeyes unveiled a meal and sold merchandise inspired by the iconic anime. The menu introduced a meal, which included the chain's signature chicken, lemonade and dessert inspired by "One Piece" characters.
The brand also held a giveaway on the day it debuted the meal, giving away reusable One Piece x Popeyes bento boxes at participating locations.
Last December, SpongeBob fans got to enjoy a meal from Burger King, which promoted "The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants". In 2024, Wendy's also offered a Krusty Kollab Meal.
Details on the popular franchises 'One Piece' and 'SpongeBob'
"One Piece" is a Japanese comic book, also known as a manga, created by Eiichiro Oda in 1997. Since its publication, it has been translated into multiple languages, including English. A Japanese animated series (anime), which premiered in 1999, a Netflix live-action adaptation and multiple movies have also been created based on the manga.
In March 2026, Crunchyroll announced that the "One Piece" comic has sold over 600 million copies, surpassing Superman and becoming the best-selling comic book of all time.
Oda is the eighth best-selling author of all time, and sits behind J. K. Rowling, who sold 600 to 650 million copies of the "Harry Potter" novels, according to Crunchyroll. Oda is also the only Japanese author and the second non-English-language author listed in the top 10.
Similarly, "SpongeBob SquarePants" is a children's cartoon that first premiered on Nickelodeon in 1999, according to IMDB. The cartoon has won over 60 awards, including Daytime Emmy Awards, Teen Choice Awards, ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards and more. It has also received 70 nominations.
Multiple movies, spin-off TV shows and children's books have also been created based on the cartoon.
