Keelon Russellpassed his first challenge as Alabama's starting quarterback in Week 1 when he led the Crimson Tideto a season-opening win against East Carolina.
His next challenge is expected to be a tad more difficult: his first SEC road start.
That challenge comes at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Sept. 12 when the 12th-ranked Crimson Tide travel to Lexington, Kentucky and Kroger Field to take on Kentucky.

Russell showcased his dual-threat skill set against East Carolina, as he rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries while completing 18 of 30 passes for 256 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. The Crimson Tide also got scoring contributions from Daniel Hill, who punched
in two rushing touchdowns, and Yhonzae Pierre, who returned an interception 27 yards for a pick-six.
Kentucky kicked off the Will Stein era in convincing fashion, rolling to a 32-point victory over Youngstown State. The Wildcats, who underwent a significant roster overhaul during the offseason, also debuted a new starting quarterback in Notre Dame transfer Kenny Minchey. He delivered an impressive first performance, throwing for 301 yards and four touchdowns.
Saturday's game should be a telling test for both teams, though the Crimson Tide will look to avoid an upset — and raise any outside noise surrounding Kalen DeBoer — to begin conference play.
