A curious dog faced a crab's wrath in an unfriendly encounter on a Brazilian beach.
Mel, the pup, was walking on a beach in São Luís, Brazil when she spotted a crab on the sand and approached it, video captured by her owner Angela Falcai shows. As Mel got closer to sniff the crustacean, it snapped and latched its claw onto Mel’s face, prompting the startled dog to jump back, leaping into the air as it tried to shake off the crab.
São Luís, Brazil is located in northeastern Brazil. The city is home to several beaches, but Storyful, which provided the clip to the USA TODAY Network, didn't immediately confirm where the run-in occurred.
Mel not injured after crab pinch
Falcai did not immediately respond to USA
TODAY's request for more information on the incident but told Storyful Mel was doing just fine after the pinch.
