The Halloween decorations are looking a little too real this year thanks to a new social media trend that has pups hiding — or at least doing their best to blend in — around hardware stores.
As 2026's spooky season kicks off, people are post footage of their pups freezing next to Halloween decorations at stores. At first glance, they actually could pass for a decoration, since they're being extra good boys and staying very still during the video.
In one post, a goldendoodle named Elton is posing in some decorations at Home Depot. In another popular video, a golden retriever named Gracie is hiding next to some dog statues in Home Depot.
This isn't the first time we've seen dog these statues at Home Depot. Dating back a few years, the dog community
has been obsessed with these ghost dog statues, with owners searching far and wide before they sell out, making them look like their pups and even making their own to mimic the ones at Home Depot.
The real pups in the videos are unfortunately not for purchase in stores, but at least the Halloween decorations are finally out.
Along with Starbucks releasing its fall flavors and the weather finally showing a cool breeze, stores are rolling out their Halloween decorations. It might not be spooky season for you just yet, but the stores have been ready for fall for awhile. Michael's even had Halloween decorations as early as July.
