The 2026 high school football season continues to be full of surprises early in the season.
As a result, theUSA TODAY Sports Week 3 Super 25 continues to show different teams and programs vying for the top 10-15 spots each week.
The Midwest might be the perfect example of the upsets, as the No. 1 team in the region is held by a third team in three weeks. That means a new No. 1 has emerged.
With that in mind, here are the top 15 teams in the Midwest as the region continues the 2026 season.
1. Trinity (Louisville, KY)
Record: 2-0
The biggest winners in the Midwest region rankings, as Trinity earned a dominant 52-21 win over Christian Brothers (MO). Jamaurion Berry had four touchdowns for the Shamrocks, while Zane Johnson passed for three scores in the victory in St. Louis.

2. Brownsburg (IN)
Record: 2-0
In a convincing 31-15 win over Rabun Gap-Nacoochee (GA), Oscar Frye threw for three touchdown passes to become the all-time leader for Brownsburg with 59. Brownsburg took care of business an opponent with several Division I prospects and remains steady in the rankings.

3. East St. Louis (IL)
Record: 1-1
Much like Week 1 against Mt. Carmel, the Flyers mounted a late comeback, but ultimately fell short in a 35-28 loss to American Heritage in overtime. The loss costs them two spots in this week's rankings.

4. Massillon Washington (OH)
Record: 2-0
The Tigers earned a dominant 52-7 win over Canton GlenOak on Friday to push their winning streak to double-digits in the series. Sophomore running back Gary Yeager had the big blow with an 86-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.

5. Bishop Watterson (OH)
Record: 2-0
Bishop Watterson pushed its winning streak to 32 straight games with the shutout victory over fellow powerhouse Pickerington Central. Senior linebacker Kaden Jones led the way with 14 tackles in the defensive-dominant performance.

6. St. Edward (Lakewood, OH)
Record: 2-0
In a potential playoff preview, St. Edward pulled off a 22-8 win over McKinley after falling behind early 8-0 due to an interception returned for a touchdown. However, the defense pitched a shutout from there to pick up the crucial victory.

7. Mt. Carmel (Chicago, IL)
Record: 1-1
Mt. Carmel looked doomed, trailing 30-0 against St. Joseph Regional (NJ). However, the Caravan rallied and pulled within two points at halftime, before winning the game on its final drive in the fourth quarter, 44-38, to avoid an 0-2 start to the season.

8. Detroit Catholic Central (Novi, MI)
Record: 2-0
Detroit Catholic Central showed off its dominance in a 55-0 win over Clinton Township Chippewa Valley. For Catholic Central, the win was a big one to show that the team can still dominate after losing several seniors from last year's team.

9. Cass Tech (Detroit, MI)
Record: 1-0
Cass Tech opened its 2026 season with a 62-0 win over Michigan City in the Amazon Prep Kickoff Classic. Running back Julian Taylor had 127 yards on five carries in the first half, while also adding a strip sack fumble returned for a touchdown for good measure.
Next game: Thursday, Sept. 3, at Grandville (MI), 7 p.m. ET
10. Millard South (Omaha, NE)
Record: 1-0
Despite trailing by two touchdowns multiple times in the second half, Millard South pulled off a 35-34 comeback victory over rival Millard North. Trae Taylor — a Nebraska commit — completed 16 of 31 for 344 yards and three touchdowns.

11. Big Walnut (Sunbury, OH)
Record: 2-0
Big Walnut falls two places in this week's rankings despite a 39-7 win over Dublin Coffman. Nolan Buirley rushed for 248 yards and three touchdowns in the victory.

12. Anderson (Cincinnati, OH)
Record: 1-1
Anderson bounced back from a Week 1 loss to No. 1 Trinity in dominant fashion with a 70-12 win over Clermont. Owen Scalf passed for 320 yards and five touchdowns in the win.
Next game: Friday, Sept. 4, vs. Little Miami (OH), 7 p.m. ET
13. Elder (Cincinnati, OH)
Record: 2-0
Kaden Estep had quite the day in a dominant 56-20 win for Elder over Covington Catholic (KY). Estep finished with 463 total yards (357 passing and 106 rushing) and three touchdowns to lead his team to the win.

14. Warren Central (Indianapolis, IN)
Record: 2-0
Warren Central outgained Elkhart 482 yards to 11 in a dominant 49-10 win last week. Running back Keyon Thomas rushed for 141 yards on 17 rushes.

15. Boyle County (KY)
Record: 1-0
The 13-time state champions moved to 2-0 with a 35-0 shutout win over Bryan Station. Boyle County gets a tougher test this week against Lexington Catholic.
