Steelers running back Rico Dowdle was injured in the second quarter of his team's NFL Week 2 matchup with the New England Patriots.
The veteran was seen riding a cart back to the locker room following a mad scramble for an Aaron Rodgers' fumble on a third-and-7 strip sack about midway through the frame.
The Steelers lost 37 yards on the play as the ball continued to get batted further and further into the backfield. It wasn't clear what happened to Dowdle on the play, but CBS sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson cited that as the moment Dowdle was hurt.
Team reporter Brian Batko said the injury was to Dowdle's toe and that he is questionable to return.
The injury should mean more carries for starting running back Jaylen Warren and reserve rookie Eli
Heidenreich.
