Jack Grealish has once again been left out of Everton's squad after a disciplinary breach last week.
The midfielder was not in the lineup or on the bench for a Premier League match against Newcastle United on Monday, Nov. 2.
"Jack Grealish is not match fit and therefore not part of tonight’s squad," Everton said in a statement on social media, seeming to indicate his absence was not related to last week's disciplinary breach.
Grealish was left out of the matchday squad for a Carabao Cup win over this same Newcastle team on Thursday, Oct. 29 due to breaking an unspecified team rule.
Multiple reports have said Grealish was punished due to an unauthorized absence from training.
Ahead of Monday's match against Newcastle, Everton coach David Moyes said
he stood behind the club's decision, though he did not elaborate on what rule Grealish violated.
“I’m not going to give any details. It was a club decision and I support it. I don’t want to speak too much about it," Moyes said.
Grealish has made eight appearances this season — two for Manchester City and six for Everton — and is still looking for his first goal or assist.
The midfielder joined Everton on loan from Manchester City prior to the season, his second straight campaign with the Toffees on loan.
Everton will next be in action at home against Coventry City on Friday, Nov. 6.
