As of publication, the Atlanta Braves have officially clinched a playoff spot, but there's plenty still to be determined in the National League. The Braves are close to clinching the NL East division title, but it's a longer road to clinching a first-round bye to the NLDS. The new Evil Empire, the Los Angeles Dodgers, stand in their way. Here's a breakdown of those playoff scenarios and how to see the Braves in late September/October baseball:

If the season ended today, the Atlanta Braves would be hanging a National League East division banner. Unfortunately, that doesn't guarantee a trip to the NLDS. The Braves are most likely going to host a three-game series for the wild card, but their opponent is nowhere near decided. There's a three-way tie in the NL Wild Card between the Chicago Cubs, the Philadelphia Phillies and the San Diego Padres. The good news is, the Braves would host the entire series at Truist Park.

More than likely, it's going to take the Braves two wild card wins in order to reach the NLDS, but it's not impossible. If they overtake the Dodgers in wins, the Braves could still earn that bye and home-field advantage through the NLDS. If they do, they would host Game 1, Game 2 and a potential Game 5. If they don't, they would host Game 3 and Game 4.
