Shohei Ohtani will not compete for another World Series title after the Los Angeles Dodgers were swept in the National League Championship Series.
The Milwaukee Brewers prevented the Dodgers’ opportunity at a three-peat with a 6-4 victory over the Dodgers in Game 4. Ohtani hit a three-run home run
in the game to give the Dodgers a 4-0 lead, but it wasn’t enough as Milwaukee scored six straight runs to earn the win.Ohtani told reporters after the game that it is “hard to tell” if he will need surgery during the offseason.
The four-time MVP had not been healthy for a good portion of the season.
Ohtani had been dealing with knee inflammation and biceps discomfort. The injuries limited his ability to pitch; leaving him unable to get on the mound for a start
since July 3 due to his injuries.
The two-way star indicated to reporters that he did plan on pitching again in 2027.
