South Florida is forecast to see scattered thunderstorms this afternoon, but not necessarily relief from continued heat.
According to the National Weather Service office in Miami, the thunderstorms could
occur from "this afternoon into early evening," and are most likely to crop up over inland and Southwest Florida.
Still, Miami is expected to see a high of 93 degrees, while Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach are forecast to see highs of 92 degrees.

Metro Broward County, Fort Lauderdale: High of 92, feels like 106, rain chance 30%.
Metro Palm Beach County, West Palm Beach: High of 92, feels like 98, rain chance 30%.
Moderate, major heat risk forecast into the end of the week
Temperatures will reach the low to mid 90s through the end of the week, according to the NWS, with possible "feels-like" temperatures ranging from 105 to 109 degrees for "parts of the metro areas."
The probability of major heat risk is highest in Miami and Fort Lauderdale on Thursday, July 23, at 51% and 54%, respectively. Thursday also brings the highest likelihood of major heat risk for West Palm Beach, at 47%.
Anyone without "effective cooling" and sufficient hydration could be affected by extreme temperatures.
