RB Christian McCaffrey carried the ball 10 times for 68 yards versus the Los Angeles Rams in Week 1. McCaffrey was targeted eight times in the passing game, hauling in five balls for 20 yards.

Why It Matters: You never want to read too much into a single game, particularly in Week 1, but it was surprising to see how much burn Kaelon Black got. Perhaps some early big hits on CMC played a role. Perhaps San Francisco's ability to work from in front was the reason. Regardless, the rookie carried the ball 14 times in Melbourne. For comparison, last year's backup Brian Robinson averaged 5.4 carries per game and never had more than nine in a single game. McCaffrey still turned 15 touches into a respectable 88 yards, and he'll belong right
back in your lineup as an RB1 in Week 2. It's a situation that bears watching, however.
