Super 25 Playmakers: Top high school football athletes of Week 4

While Week 4 of the high school football season might not have been as chaotic as earlier weeks with fewer upsets and more expected results, impressive performances were still aplenty among teams ranked

in this week's USA TODAY Sports Super 25 rankings.

So far, USA TODAY Sports has crowned two Super 25 Playmakers of the Week: Basha's (AZ) Marc Duerson III and St. Thomas Aquinas' (FL) Tyler Reid.

Who will follow in their footsteps? That's for the USA TODAY Sports audience to decide.

Here's who's up for the honor this week:

DJ Clanton, Mater Dei (CA) linebacker

Mater Dei senior Dailon "DJ" Clanton helped the ninth-ranked Monarch's secure the win in one of the bigger games of the week as Mater Dei topped No. 24 Centennial in a low-scoring, 10-9 affair. Mater Dei forced three turnovers in the defensive slugfest, with Clanton being responsible for one of those with a forced fumble. To go along with the turnover, Clanton also finished the night with a team-leading 11 tackles — three of which were sacks.

CJ Cypher, Carrollton (GA) quarterback

Another week, another offensive onslaught for the Carrollton Trojans. Leading the Trojans to an average of 60 points per game is Miami quarterback commit CJ Cypher, who finds himself on this list for the second time this season. In Friday night's 63-7 win over Hapeville Charter, Cypher went 26-for-35 through the air, good for 449 yards and five touchdowns. The sophomore QB has passed for 1,400 yards and 20 touchdowns through four games this season.

David Gabriel Georges, Baylor (TN) running back

Another familiar name on this list, Baylor running back and Tennessee football commit David Gabriel Georges continues to assert himself as one of the nation's top ball carriers. In a clash of Super 25 teams, No. 13 Baylor topped No. 25 Trinity (KY) 35-27 and Gabriel Georges had plenty to do with it. On 24 carries, Gabriel Georges tallied 305 yards and five touchdowns. On the season, the future Tennessee Volunteer has rushed for 750 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Adrian Petero, Santa Margarita (CA) running back

With an impressive showing against Inderkum, Adrian Petero not only helped No. 5 Santa Margarita to a lopsided 41-0 win to help the Eagles stay undefeated but he also helped his team stay put inside the top 5 of the Super 25 national rankings. In the win, the sophomore running back tallied 12 carries for 101 yards and four touchdowns. Petero now has eight touchdowns and 301 rushing yards on the season.

Ty Snell, Allen (TX) quarterback

Quarterbacking one of the most impressive teams this season, Allen sophomore Ty Snell continues to turn heads as he and the Eagles' offense put up huge numbers. In a 56-35 win over Southlake Carroll on Friday night, Snell passed for 305 yards and three touchdowns on an 18-for-25 effort.
