It's been another packed week in the flag footballworld. Flag football is finally up and running in Arizona, and there has already been no shortage of stellar performances - just take a quick glance at how many Arizona players have made their way onto this week's list. While it's impossible to honor every single player who had a stellar week, these are a few that really caught our eye.
Here are this week's Top IX Flag Football performances, arranged alphabetically.
Janell Adams, No. 5 Willowbrook (IL)
Janell Adams was absolutely everywhere in Illinois-topping Willowbrook’s victory over Christ the King early last week, running for 137 yards and four touchdowns and tacking on a receiving touchdown just for kicks.
She was shining as defense as well, leading the team with seven flag pulls.
Brooklyn Blair, No. 15 The Classical Academy (CO)
On the defensive side of things, Brooklyn Blair put on quite a show. The wide receiver and linebacker had four interceptions – two of which became pick-6s – five flag pulls and two defended passes in The Classical Academy’s 33-12 victory over Elizabeth last week.
Isabelle Garcia, No. 23 Marana (AZ)
Now that Arizona flag football is officially in action, we know we’ll be hearing a lot more of the name Isabelle Garcia. The sophomore quarterback threw for 262 yards and four touchdowns in Marana’s 42-12 victory over Eastmark, running an additional 92 yards for her fifth score.
Ava George, No. 21 McEachern (GA)
McEachern dominated Long County 44-0 in their season opener last week, and Ava George was everywhere for the Indians. The senior took the majority of the snaps to throw for 169 yards and two touchdowns, supplemented by her snagged interception and 80 receiving yards for two touchdowns.
Peyton Marr, No. 10 Mountain Vista (CO)
Peyton Marr had a night in Mountain Vista’s 48-0 shutout of Regis Jesuit, throwing 20-for-24 to tally 287 yards and four touchdowns while also rushing for 34 yards and touchdown.
Amaya Moreno, No. 18 Campo Verde (AZ)
Amaya Moreno definitely takes the cake for the most insane stat line of the week. The senior quarterback threw 17-for-20 for a whopping 458 yards and – wait for it – 10 touchdowns in Campo Verde’s 69-0 win over McClintock. That number ties the Arizona high school flag football single game record.
Lacie Nemchick, No. 9 Highland (AZ)
Arizona flag football is finally up and running, and Lacie Nemchick is a quarterback that we’ve been eagerly waiting to see back in action. The Nebraska recruit threw for 295 yards and three touchdowns in their opening win over Campo Verde, running in another two to credit five touchdowns to her name.
Serenity Rutledge, No. 8 Moody (AL)
With a whopping six touchdowns to her name, Serenity Rutledge turned in the kind of elite performance that Moody fans have come to expect in their win over Fairfield. Three of those scores came through the air, where she threw 9-for-11 for 212 yards, and the other half came from her 78 rushing yards.
Adeline Shook, No. 11 St. Charles North (IL)
The North Stars are still hanging on to their pristine 16-0 record, and Adeline Shook’s presence on the field has been no small part of that. In their win over Lake Park last week, the senior logged 116 receiving yards for two touchdowns, six flag pulls and two interceptions.
