Losing Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt against the Seahawks makes Justin Herbert's assignment considerably harder, and Ladd McConkey's foot adds another concern. The Broncos aren't healthy either, with Patrick Surtain II and Riley Moss both leaving last week's loss. Those cornerback questions give Los Angeles a chance, provided Herbert has time to find it. That's where I'm skeptical. Denver should be able to stress replacement blockers and force Los Angeles into shorter, more predictable throws. Perhaps there's room to build on the comeback bid that fell short against the Seahawks, as Justin Herbert finally stopped pressing and led consectuvie touchdown drives in the fourth quarter. With cornerbacks Patrick Surtain II and Riley Moss hurt, Denver's defense might be more boxed in than it's accustomed to being. But it's difficult to trust an operation that has such fundamental issues up front, which Vance Joseph should be able to exploit.

The Chargers can't continue to play this poorly...and yet. Los Angeles is firmly in the "don't trust" group. Even if Denver has yet to win on the road this year, there's quite a difference between playing at the 49ers and Chiefs and facing a version of Justin Herbert who can't stop seeing ghosts out there. It'll get better for the Chargers eventually. Just not against the Broncos' defense.
