Don't look now, but Texas quarterback Arch Manning is beginning to look more like the player tabbed as a potential first-round draft pick.
For the second time in as many games — and with the Longhorns missing receiver Cam Coleman and running back Hollywood Smothers
— Manning threw for three touchdowns to no interceptions on the road at No. 19 Missouri. He also completed over 70% of his passes and nearly 300 yards. That follows a Week 9 game vs. Mississippi State, against whom Manning completed 16 of 20 passes for 220 yards and three touchdowns in a 31-3 rout of the Bulldogs.
With the win, No. 11 Texas
advanced to 7-2 on the season and 3-2 in SEC play. The Longhorns, tabbed as the No. 7 team in the initial College Football Playoff rankings, remain alive and well in the CFP race with big games coming up at LSU, vs. Arkansas and at Texas A&M.
With that, here's a closer look at how Manning played against the Tigers:
Arch Manning stats vs Missouri
- Passing: 28-of-38 passing (73.7%) for 297 yards and three touchdowns
- Rushing: Six rushes for negative-26 yards (negative-4.8 yards per carry)
