Oregon football has spent the past several seasons knocking on the doorstep of a national title, consistently positioning itself as a top-25 team but falling just short of making the College Football Playoff championship game.
Could 2026 finally be the year Dan Lanning's Ducks kick that door down? The Ducks' first step toward that elusive title will take place on Saturday, Sept. 5, when No. 2 Oregon hosts Boise State at 3:30 p.m. ET at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon.

The Ducks return one of the nation's top quarterbacks in Dante Moore, who finished fourth in the nation last season in completion percentage at 71.8%, throwing for 3,565 yards and 30 touchdowns. Moore, who opted to return to the Ducks instead
of going to the NFL draft, led the Ducks to a 13-2 record last season — the two defeats coming against eventual national champion Indiana.
Oregon also returns a veteran defensive linethat features A'Mauri Washington and Bear Alexander in the middle and Teitum Tuioti and Matayo Uiagalelei on the edge.
Boise State, expected to compete once again for the Group of 6 bid to the CFP, is coming off a 9-5 season and will once again start Maddux Madsen at quarterback. The Broncos are entering their first season in the Pac-12 after coming over from the Mountain West.
