A new No. 1 reigns in the Midwest Region rankings.
For the fourth time in six weeks in the 2026 high school football, a new No. 1 team has been marked in USA TODAY Sports' Midwest rankings, according to the latest USA TODAY Sports Week Super 25 rankings.
Trinity (KY) lost its first game and grip on the No. 1 spot with a loss on Friday, Sept. 11. With that in mind, here are the top 15 teams in the Midwest as the region continues its kickoff of the 2026 season.

1. Brownsburg (IN)
Record: 4-0
Next game: Friday, Sept. 18, at Fishers (IN), 7 p.m. ET
Branden Sharpe broke the all-time Brownsburg receiving record in a 49-7 win over Avon on Friday, Sept. 11. The win marked the 23rd straight for the Bulldogs,
which now leapfrog into the top spot in the region for the first time in the 2026 season. Brownsburg scored three touchdowns in the first quarter and never looked back. The Bulldogs have outscored opponents by a combined 176-47 this season.
2. Massillon Washington (OH)
Record: 4-0
Next game: Friday, Sept. 18, at St. Edward (OH), 7 p.m. ET
Massillon Washington continued its winning ways with a dominant 49-0 win over Canisius (Buffalo, NY) last weekend, marking the fourth time in 12 seasons under head coach Nate Moore, the team is off to a 4-0 start. Four-star running back Elijah Kimble — a Syracuse commit — helped the Tigers jump out to a 21-0 halftime lead.
3. Trinity (Louisville, KY)
Record: 3-1
Next game: Friday, Sept. 18, vs. Male (KY), 7 p.m. ET
You cannot stop David Gabriel Georges; you can only hope to contain him. Unfortunately for Trinity, it was able to do neither in a 35-27 loss to Chattanooga (TN) on Friday, Sept. 11. Georges finished with 315 rushing yards. The good news: Trinity did show it can hang with one of the top teams in the country, as it led 14-7 at halftime and then fought back from a 35-14 deficit in the second half.
4. East St. Louis (IL)
Record: 3-1
Next game: Friday, Sept. 18, vs. Belleville East (IL), 7 p.m. CT
East St. Louis left no doubt on the field with a 64-6 win over O'Fallon (IL) on Friday, Sept. 11, to push its winning streak to two straight games, following the lone stumble against American Heritage on Aug. 28. The Flyers are 2-0 against Illinois opponents this season and have won 28 straight games in Southwestern Conference (SWC) play, dating back to the 2020-21 season.
5. Big Walnut (Sunbury, OH)
Record: 4-0
Next game: Friday, Sept. 18, at Westerville South (OH), 7 p.m. ET
Big Walnut opened up conference play with a dominant 46-0 win over Hayes (OH). The defense dominated for the Golden Eagles, allowing just 67 total yards, while racking up six sacks and eigth tackles for loss.
6. Bishop Watterson (OH)
Record: 4-0
Next game: Friday, Sept. 18, vs. Harvest Prep (OH), 7 p.m. ET
Bishop Watterson rallied from an early deficit to earn a 35-13 win over Cleveland Glenville Tarblooders. The win moves it to 4-0 on the season and pushed the winning streak to 34 straight games. The Eagles trailed 13-0 in the first half, before rallying to take a 14-13 halftime lead.
7. St. Edward (Lakewood, OH)
Record: 4-0
Next game: Friday, Sept. 18, vs. Massillon Washington (OH), 7 p.m. ET
A last-second goal line stand helped St. Edward escape with a 17-14 win over Archbishop Hoban Knights. The Eagles front seven stuffed a run to preserve the close victory. Now comes a tougher test with Massillon Washington this coming weekend.
8. Mt. Carmel (Chicago, IL)
Record: 3-1
Next game: Friday, Sept. 18, at St. Patrick (IL), 7:30 p.m. CT
The Caravan have won three straight following the season-opening loss to rival East St. Louis. A 56-26 win over Maist showed the team dominate late, as it scored the final 28 points of the game. QB Brady Cloherty finished with 281 yards passing and five touchdowns.
9. Detroit Catholic Central (Novi, MI)
Record: 3-0
Next game: Friday, Sept. 18, vs. De La Salle Collegiate (MI), 7 p.m. ET
Detroit Catholic Central dominated Canada's Windsor Holy Names Knights with a 56-14 victory on Friday, Sept. 11. The Shamrocks absolutely dominated early, jumping out to a 50-0 halftime advantage.
10. Cass Tech (Detroit, MI)
Record: 3-0
Next game: Thursday, Sept. 17, vs. Mumford (MI), 5 p.m. ET
Cass Tech reached 3-0 with a dominating 46-0 victory over Detroit Southeastern. The Technicians have allowed just seven points per game this season and have now won six straight road games, dating back to last season.
11. Millard South (Omaha, NE)
Record: 3-0
Next game: Friday, Sept. 18, at Cardinal Ritter College Prep (MO), 7 p.m. CT
Nebraska commit Trae Taylor had a big day with 403 total yards and six touchdowns in a dominant 49-17 road victory over Elkhorn. He completed passes to eight different receivers, putting on a clinic in the win.
12. Anderson (Cincinnati, OH)
Record: 3-1
Next game: Friday, Sept. 18, vs. Kings (OH), 7 p.m. ET
Anderson jumped out to a 45-0 halftime lead en route to a 52-13 win over Lebanon to move to 3-1 on the season. The Raptors were air reliant, amassing 507 passing yards on the night, while rushing for just 53.
13. Elder (Cincinnati, OH)
Record: 4-0
Next game: Friday, Sept. 18, vs. St. Xavier (KY), 7 p.m. ET
The Panthers earned a dominant 35-0 shutout victory over La Salle to keep their perfect start to the season alive. Elder racked up 361 yards of offense, while limiting the Lancers to 123. Kaden Estep completed 8 of 9 passes for 161 yards and three touchdowns, while adding 110 rushing yards in the win.
14. Warren Central (Indianapolis, IN)
Record: 4-0
Next game: Friday, Sept. 18, vs. Ben Davis (IN), 7 p.m. ET
Warren Central moved to 4-0 with a huge 47-7 victory over Lawrence Central. The Warriors are averaging 38 points per game this season and have reached the 40-point plateau in three straight games.
15. Princeton (Cincinnati, OH)
- Record: 4-0
- Next game: Friday, Sept. 18, vs. Lakota West (OH), 7 p.m. ET
The Vikings are the newest team to make the rankings following a 56-7 win over Sycamore to move to 4-0 on the season. Princeton is averaging 36 point per game on the season.
