Don't look now, but Nicki Minaj and Chucky the killer doll are beefing.
The rapper, a supporter of President Donald Trump, encouraged her X followers to vote in the midterm elections on Nov. 3 by sharing an image depicting the horror character Chucky as a Republican. In the graphic, which appeared to be AI-generated, the slasher villain is wearing a pink suit and a button that reads, "Vote Red."
"HAPPY ELECTION DAY!!! ♥️🇺🇸✨," she wrote.
The creator of the character wasn't exactly thrilled. Don Mancini, who wrote or cowrote nearly every Chucky movie and created the SyFy series "Chucky," clapped back in an X reply, "IMPOSTER. CHUCKY IS PART OF THE BLUE WAVE THAT WILL WASH AWAY ALL THE CORRUPTION."

Mancini went further by sharing a photo of a Chucky
doll wearing an "I Voted" sticker as he continued to make the case that the character would support Democrats.
"Chucky has a trans kid," Mancini wrote. "Chucky protects the dolls. Chucky is anti-ICE. Chucky says 'A BLUE WAVE is coming, as BLUE as my …eyes!'"
Introduced in the 1988 slasher "Child's Play," Chucky is a doll possessed by the serial killer Charles Lee Ray, whose goal is generally to use voodoo to transfer his soul into a living person's body while brutally murdering anyone who gets in his way.
While Chucky's politics have never exactly been a focus of the slasher movies or the 2021 TV series, the franchise has established the character to be an ally of the LGBTQ+ community. In the 2004 movie "Seed of Chucky," Chucky had a doll child known as Glen/Glenda, who has been identified as genderfluid.

Chucky most recently starred in an eponymous SyFy television series, which centered on a gay teen named Jake and his relationship with his boyfriend. In one episode, Chucky pointed out to Jake that "I have a queer kid." When Jake asked Chucky if he's "cool" with his child's identity, Chucky assured him that while he may be a murderer, "I'm not a monster, Jake."
"It's meant a lot that queer and trans kids queer kids have gotten in touch with us to tell us how much Glen and Glenda meant to them," Mancini told Them in 2022.
"You just never know how you're going to affect somebody or precisely how much something might mean to someone. Having gay and trans fans get in touch with me to tell me that it meant a lot to them, that means the world to me, cause it makes me feel like I'm not wasting my life."
Minaj made her Chucky post while Americans were still heading to the polls on Election Day. It ended up being a big night for the Democratic Party, which took control of both the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives.
During campaigning, Minaj appeared with President Donald Trump at a rally in Michigan to stump for Republicans and share her support for the president.
