New York Jets running back Breece Hall is a long shot to play on Sunday, Oct. 25, due to a lingering quadriceps injury.
NFL insider Ian Rapoport reports Hall could test out his leg before Sunday's home game against the Miami Dolphins (1 p.m. ET, CBS), but sources say he's unlikely to be active.
Hall has missed the Jets' last three games after suffering the injury in Week 3 against the Lions. Braelon Allen has filled in admirably in Hall's absence, averaging nearly 85 rushing yards per game and 4.6 yards per carry over that span.
The Jets will make a final decision on Hall's status when inactives are officially announced 90 minutes before kickoff.
Is Breece Hall playing against the Dolphins?
After he missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday, Jets coach Aaron Glenn said on Friday that Hall
would return to practice on a limited basis and was questionable to play in Week 7.
Not much has changed over the past 48 hours.
With Hall out, the Jets have given most of the offensive reps at running back to Allen. He played 30 of 32 snaps in Week 4 against the Bears, 60 of 70 against the Browns in Week 5 and 54 of 62 last week against the Patriots. Third-year pro Isaiah Davis has played the remaining time as Allen's backup.
