Burlington is set to open 20 stores across 12 U.S. states in September as its expansion to more than 1,000 locations continues.

The openings come as Burlington plans to open more than 100 stores by the end of 2026. In an emailed statement to USA TODAY earlier this year, Burlington CEO Michael O'Sullivan said the new stores will feature an "improved store design."

"Delivering incredible value on brand-name and on-trend merchandise is at the heart of what we do," he said. "We look forward to giving shoppers the chance to explore great savings, find fresh brands, and experience our new and improved store design no matter where they live."

Burlington has also expanded beyond its retail footprint in 2026. In April, the retailer broke ground on a 2 million-square-foot

distribution center near Phoenix that is set to open in 2028.
