Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt is now legally Zahara Marley Jolie.
A Los Angeles Superior Court judge granted the 21-year-old's petition to remove "Pitt" from her name Monday, according to the court's online docket.
The documents show Zahara Jolie filed the petition June 4 in Los Angeles. Judge Virginia Keeny approved the request to drop father Brad Pitt's last name on Sept. 28, and the court granted the petition without any recorded objections.
Zahara Jolie had already been publicly using her mother Angelina Jolie's surname. She introduced herself as Zahara Marley Jolie while joining Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority at Spelman College in 2023. The psychology graduate was announced by the same name while accepting her diploma from the historically Black college
in May, though the commencement program listed her as Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt.
USA TODAY reached out to Angelina Jolie's attorney and representative for comment.

Zahara Jolie is the third of the former couple's six children to legally remove Pitt from their surname.
Her older brother Maddox Jolie, 25, became Maddox Chivan Jolie after a judge granted his name-change petition Sept. 14. Maddox Jolie filed the petition in May and described his reason for seeking the change as "personal."
Shiloh Jolie, 20, started the process on her 18th birthday in May 2024, filing to change her name from Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie. She later published a required public notice before a judge approved the request that August.
Their sister Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, 18, has also petitioned to remove Pitt from her name. Her case remains pending, with a hearing scheduled for Nov. 2 according to online court records viewed by USA TODAY. Before filing the petition, she was credited as Vivienne Jolie in the Playbill for the Broadway production of "The Outsiders," which she worked on with Angelina Jolie.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt also share sons Pax and Knox.
The former spouses separated in 2016 after two years of marriage and were declared legally single in 2019. They finalized their divorce in December 2024 following years of legal disputes.
In a 2022 court filing, Jolie alleged that Pitt grabbed and shook her, choked one of their children and struck another in the face during a September 2016 private-plane flight. Federal authorities dropped its investigation and did not bring charges against the actor.
Brad Pitt revealed in an August interview that he had begun drinking alcohol again after seven years of sobriety. The actor told Esquire he now drinks in what he described as a "more restrained manner." His comments did not address his children's name changes.
