Kyle Busch’s name and legacy will live on at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
The track, owned by Speedway Motorsports LLC, announced on Monday, Sept. 28 that it has renamed two roads near the track in honor of the late NASCAR driver. The news comes as the top-level Cup Series heads to Las Vegas this weekend for the South Point 400, the fifth race in NASCAR’s postseason Chase.
The street intersections leading into "The Bullring" — a short track near the main speedway — right off will be renamed Rowdy Road, a nod to Busch’s “Days of Thunder” inspired nickname. The other street will be renamed Busch Brothers Drive, cementing permanent reminders of the Busch family's connection to Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Drive name change during a planning commission meeting on Sept. 15.
Per a news release from Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the new street names will be formally presented to the Busch family during the pre-race ceremonies on Sunday, Oct. 4.
Kyle Busch, a two-time Cup Series champion and NASCAR’s all-time wins leader with 234 combined victories across the three national touring circuits, suddenly died at the age of 41 on May 21 due to complications from sepsis caused by presumed bacterial pneumonia.
His older brother Kurt, who retired from NASCAR in 2022, was inducted into the sport’s Hall of Fame earlier this year. He is the only driver in the history of the Cup Series to notch wins with four different manufacturers, and also won races with five different teams. Kurt was the Cup Series champion in 2004 and won the Daytona 500 in 2017.
Both Kyle and Kurt Busch were named to NASCAR’s 75 Greatest Drivers list in 2023. With 97 combined Cup Series victories, the Buschs are the winningest brothers in the sport’s history.
Growing up in Las Vegas, Kyle and Kurt learned how to race from their father Tom, a local mechanic and short-track driver.
The Friday night race at “The Bullring” of Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s fall NASCAR weekend will officially be named the Kyle Busch Classic, honoring Busch's roots in short-track racing and his longstanding connection to the facility. This year’s event will feature a CARS Tour West race with Busch’s son Brexton set to compete.
On Sunday during the Cup Series race, Kyle Larson will race his No. 5 Chevrolet with a paint scheme paying tribute to the Kellogg’s-sponsored car Busch drove for Hendrick Motorsports early in his career.
