There haven't been many public updates on Detroit Lions linebacker Jack Campbell's injury status so far. But what has been announced has largely been good news.
Most recently, Lions coach Dan Campbell said that Jack Campbell was "improving" during a Tuesday, Nov. 3, radio interview, though he did not share any additional specifics about the linebacker's condition.
Dan Campbell's latest update came after Detroit posted a statement to social media on Monday, Nov. 2 providing an update on Jack Campbell. The Lions coach cited the statement in his own press conference later that day, sharing a similarly general update of his own.
"Your prayers are working," Dan Campbell said. "Please continue to do that. We'll leave it at that, so continue to pray for
him. But it is positive."
Jack Campbell sustained his scary-looking neck injury while making a tackle against Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson in the fourth quarter on Sunday, Nov. 1. He remained motionless on the ground after the hit, where he was attended to by training staff and medical personnel. The linebacker was eventually carted off the field and taken to a local Detroit hospital.
Here's everything we know so far about Campbell's post-injury outlook:

The Lions' head coach provided some good news when he took the podium for his press conference later in the day on Nov. 2. While Campbell didn't share any details about his team's linebacker, he told reporters things were generally positive.
"It's positive," Dan Campbell said. "Your prayers are working. Please continue to do that. We'll leave it at that, so continue to pray for him. But it is positive."
Pressed for more information, Campbell said he couldn't share anything else. He added that he briefed the Lions' captains on the linebacker's latest status after the coach visited him in the hospital, and he said the team "knows what's going on."
"I got to go see him last night," Dan Campbell said. "It was good, it was positive. I got to see his parents, talk to his wife. You know, everybody's in good spirits. It's about the recovery. It's a small setback. That's the family. They're very positive, so that's good in that regard."

Who is Jack Campbell?
Campbell is a linebacker for the Detroit Lions.
The 26-year-old is in his fourth NFL season, all with Detroit. The Lions drafted Campbell with the 18th overall pick in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft after he starred in college for the Iowa Hawkeyes.
A native of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Campbell broke out during his junior season with the Hawkeyes, totaling 143 tackles, two interceptions, two fumble recoveries and a sack in 2021. Returning for his senior season, Campbell was named an All-American in 2022 and received the Butkus Award as the top linebacker in college football.
He also received the William V. Campbell Trophy, also known as the "academic Heisman," in 2022 for being recognized as the college football player with the best combination of academics, leadership and on-field performance.
Campbell slid right in as a key piece of the Lions' defense after arriving in the NFL. However, he didn't officially break out until his third season. Campbell recorded 176 total tackles, three forced fumbles and five sacks en route to being named a first-team All-Pro and earning his first Pro Bowl appearance last season.
On May 21, 2026, the Lions recognized Campbell's breakout with a four-year, $81 million extension.
Prior to his injury in Week 8 of the 2026 NFL season, Campbell hadn't missed a game in his four-year career.
