Dutch Bros, known for its coffee, drive or walk-up service and workers called broistas, is continuing its expansion in September, this time in four states.
The stores will be in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Kentucky. Openings will happen by the end of the company’s third quarter, which ends in September, the company said.
“We hope to serve every community one day,” the company added in an email on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
The openings come after rival coffee chain 7 Brew outbid Dutch Bros for 73 Salad and Go locations that closed suddenly in early August, reported the Arizona Republic, part of the USA TODAY Network.
Dutch Bros previously made a $105 million agreement with Salad and Go, but once the deal went public, 7 Brew said it had offered a higher,
undisclosed amount.
Dutch Bros CEO Christine Barone said that despite the outcome, the company is still on track to operate 2,029 coffee shops in 2029.
"We’ve always been disciplined in how we allocate capital,” Barone said in a news release. “While we have chosen not to increase our original offer, we remain engaged in the process and will continue to evaluate opportunities where the total investment provides the appropriate return."
Here’s what we know about the openings slated for this month.
