6ABC Chief Meteorologist Cecily Tynan has officially signed off following more than 35 years in broadcast.
Tynan's last show was Monday, Aug. 31.
The meteorologist and TV personality shared words of gratitude with viewers and colleagues that have supported her over the years.
"We've been through so much together. The blizzard of '96, superstorm Sandy, hurricanes, heat waves, tornado outbreaks, but after I leave here that's not what I will remember the most. I'll be thinking about just how much fun I've had here for more than three decades," Tynan said, beginning to choke up.
"I may be retiring, and you won't see me here on the news anymore, but I know I will always be part of the Action News team," Tynan said.
Tynan started with 6ABC in 1995, the
news station shared, working as a weekend weather anchor and general assignment reporter.
In 2009, she became the station's chief meteorologist, and for the last two years viewers have grown accustomed to seeing Tynan at the 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. broadcasts.
Tynan spent over three decades of her career with Action News.
