There aren't many intriguing games in college football's slate of games in Week 9, leaving ESPN's "College GameDay" without an obvious option for its pregame show location.
That's why the "GameDay" crew is heading to Bloomington, Indiana, for No. 4 Indiana vs. Minnesota in Week 9.
The Hoosiers missed out on hosting "GameDay" in Week 7 when they faced Ohio State at home in a last-minute thriller. The show instead went to Provo, Utah, for BYU vs. Notre Dame, which ended up being the right choice as the Cougars upset the Fighting Irish 28-24 in a top-10 ranked matchup.
It's only fair for Indiana, a top-five ranked team and reigning national champions, to receive a "College
GameDay" game this season. The pregame show also hasn't been to Bloomington since 2024, when Indiana defeated Washington 31-17.
Indiana-Minnesota will only be "GameDay's" second full-time visit to Bloomington, with 2024 marking the first in school history outside of the show visiting for Indiana-Ohio State on a special edition of the program on a Thursday night in 2017.
Indiana is 1-1 with "GameDay" in town:
- 2017: Ohio State 49, Indiana 21
- 2024: Indiana 31, Washington 17
- 2026: Indiana vs. Minnesota
Indiana is hoping to rebound after back-to-back poor offensive performances in its loss to Ohio State in Week 7 and its 13-6 overtime win over Michigan in Week 8. Quarterback Josh Hoover is playing through an injury to his throwing arm, which help him to 8-of-18 passing for 81 yards with his first interception of the season against the Wolverines.
