The veteran YouTuber Grace Helbig said in an Instagram video on Monday, Oct. 12, that she has two brain tumors and will be undergoing surgery on Wednesday, Oct. 14.
After experiencing numbness in her leg, Helbig went to the hospital and learned of her diagnosis, she recounted. This is sadly familiar territory for Helbig – in 2023, she was diagnosed with triple-positive breast cancer.
"She missed me. My cancer missed me," she joked in the new video. "Why wouldn’t she want to be in my body?”
She also shared that the 2026 stops of her upcoming podcast tour with her best friend and frequent collaborator, Mamrie Hart, would be rescheduled for 2027.
The creator went on to say, "I feel very positive and optimistic because these are operable brain tumors,
and there was a moment in time where it wasn’t certain. Quite scary."
She continued, "Obviously, we’ll take this week off of podcasting, but trust me, there’ll be plenty of stories for the next podcast when that happens."
Helbig is a YouTuber with over 2 million subscribers, known for her comedic skits and videos she makes with other famous friends. She approached her previous diagnosis with her typical sense of humor.
"The joke’s not lost on me that I’ve spent 15 years not using my boobs to get attention on the internet, and yet here we are," she said at the time. "And that I’m announcing this during cancer season. So what’s next? This is my job now and I’m going to fight this little bitch of a thing in my left breast as best and as strongly and as gracefully as I can. Pun intended.”

In the new video, she said she still remains hopeful.
"I’ve asked the doctors. They said the positive attitude can’t fix it, but it can help," she said, adding, "It felt like so much more work to keep it offline than to just tell people what was going on. My biggest concern about telling people is that I didn’t want it to be like, ‘Here’s your responsibility of handling this really difficult thing.’ I think I’ve always been protective of an audience in making sure that they didn’t have to carry something for me in some way.”
