Christina Aguilera is giving a rare glimpse into family time with her 12-year-old daughter, Summer Rain.
The 45-year-old Grammy Award-winning singer shared a photo of Summer, among other pictures from her summer, in an Aug. 29 Instagram post
. In the rare mother-daughter photo, Aguilera is seen wearing an American flag T-shirt and leaning against her daughter, who sat on the hood of a light blue car, wearing jeans."Summerween," Aguilera captioned the post, which also included photos of romantic moments with her and fiancé Matthew Rutler, with whom she shares her daughter.
Despite maintaining an active presence on social media, Aguilera rarely shares photos of her children. Earlier, in March, she posted a reel recapping her family’s visit to Costa
Rica’s La Paz Waterfall Gardens & Wildlife Refuge. The video featured clips of herself, Rutler and Summer enjoying their trip.
Before that, her daughter appeared in the 2025 documentary and concert film "Christmas in Paris."
In addition to Summer, Aguilera also has a son, Max Liron, 18, whom she shares with ex-husband Jordan Bratman.
Aguilera on motherhood and kids' future
Aguilera recently shared that her daughter inherited her creativity and is interested in following her mother's footsteps; however, the "Genie in a Bottle” singer doesn't "want to push anything" on her children.
"She’s such an artist, she paints, she draws, she makes beautiful masks, and she’s just so creative, but she’s definitely her own thing," Aguilera said on a December 2025 episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show. "And I never want to push anything on my kids, whatever they’re passionate about, I’m there to support it. But she has taken an interest in acting, so she takes lessons, but I just want everything to be very passion-based. Whatever makes them happy."
Aguilera also opened up about motherhood, and when Hudson asked how she earned "cool mom points" with her son, the singer admitted it’s "tough."
"It’s tough with kids in general," she said, "They will call you out for anything and everything. And I’m like, 'I’ve lived through some things, too!'"
