The Los Angeles Rams lost a hard-fought battle to the Buffalo Bills in their Week 5 "Monday Night Football" matchup, falling 38-35 in overtime.
The Rams may have also lost their starting left tackle, Alaric Jackson, after the 28-year-old tackle got into a postgame altercation with Bills edge rusher Bradley Chubb.
The incident occurred after Jackson exchanged jerseys with Bills defensive lineman Deone Walker on the field following the game. Chubb appeared to yell something in Jackson's direction, which prompted the Iowa product to approach the 30-year-old veteran near midfield.
The two briefly jawed, with Chubb appearing to gesture toward Jackson's face before the Rams tackle threw a punch at his opponent.
Jackson was then restrained by his teammate,
tight end Colby Parkinson, marking the end of the confrontation.
Jackson could be subject to NFL discipline because of the incident, which would potentially include a suspension.
Here's more to know about Jackson's potential fate as the Rams prepare for a Week 6 game against the Arizona Cardinals.
Will Alaric Jackson be suspended by the NFL?
The NFL has not yet announced whether Jackson will be suspended for his postgame punch of Chubb. However, the league is expected to review the incident, as NFL Media's Mike Garafolo reports.
"Actions on the field, whether they're pregame, during the game, postgame, are reviewed by the NFL for potential discipline," Garafolo explained during an appearance on NFL Network's "Good Morning Football." "So, that is expected to be the case here for Jackson."
Any potential suspension of Jackson would likely be similar to the one-game ban the NFL gave Detroit Lions safety Brian Branch for punching then-Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster following a "Sunday Night Football" matchup between the two teams in 2025.
That said, it's worth noting that Jackson has a suspension history. He was suspended two games to start the 2024 NFL season for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy.
Jackson also faced domestic violence charges during the 2026 NFL offseason, though the NFL has not yet doled out any discipline related to his arrest.
If the NFL does suspend Jackson, veteran offensive tackle David Quessenberry would be the next man up at tackle for the Rams. Quessenberry, a 36-year-old veteran, has appeared in 102 games with 30 starts since being a sixth-round selection in the 2013 NFL Draft.
