A handful of heavy hitters comprise what's arguably the top high school football region in the country.
IMG and St. Thomas Aquinas both dominated, allowing a combined three points to their two opponents. Another South Florida squad also made their entrance into the Southeast Super 15, as well as the Super 25 national rankings.

1. IMG Academy (Bradenton, FL)
Record: 1-0
IMG, the top-ranked team the Super 25 rankings, went out to Utah and dominated Lone Peak, winning 59-3. The Ascenders racked up 468 yards of offense with five takeaways, leading to a ton of short fields. Jayden Wade was 15 of 21 for 233 yards and a pair of scores.

2. St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, FL)
Record: 1-0
Many in the high school sports world think Aquinas is better than IMG this season, but we have the Raiders behind the Ascenders. After romping Western 41-0, St. Thomas will be able to prove its worth in a Super 25 clash with DeSoto, ranked No. 22 in the Super 25 rankings, on Saturday.

3. Buford (GA)
Record: 1-0
Buford, ranked No. 7 in the Super 25, looked shaky early on against Gainesville but found a way to get it done, winning 39-19 in a game that was nationally televised on ESPN. The big news for this program came after the game, when it was announced that 5-star defensive line prospect Jalen Brewster would be transferring from Cedar Hill (TX) to the Peach State.

4. Thompson (Alabaster, AL)
Record: 1-0
The Warriors are the ninth-ranked ream in the Super 25 and opened their season with a bang, beating Phenix City Central behind 335 yards passing and four touchdowns from Trent Seaborn. Thompson's every bit the top team in Alabama right now and will go to battle against the second-best team in Clay-Chalkville.

5. Baylor (Chattanooga, TN)
Record: 1-0
The Red Raiders, the 10th-ranked ream in the Super 25 rankings, know how to put the pedal down, specifically David Gabriel Georges. The 5-star Tennessee commit had just under 250 scrimmage yards in a 38-20 beatdown of Brentwood Academy. Marshall Manning also got his first varsity action, taking a pair of snaps in the game.

6. Carrollton (GA)
Record: 1-0
If there's anything this 13th-ranked Carrollton team knows how to do, it's to score. The Trojans hung 55 points on the road against Rome, with Miami commit CJ Cypher throwing for 269 yards and four scores. Sophomore running back Zachary Watts also impressed with 101 yards and three touchdowns on just five touches.

7. Carol City (Miami, FL)
Record: 1-0
There wasn't much drama with No. 17 Carol City this week, making the trek up I-95 and beating Daytona Beach Mainland 38-3. It's an encouraging start for Toro Wallace, who officially gets win No. 1 in Week 1. Next up is a trek a little further up I-95 into Georgia, to take on Lee County.

8. West Boca Raton (FL)
Record: 1-0
If there's anything No. 18 West Boca has proven over the last two weeks, it's that they belong in not just these rankings, but the USA TODAY Super 25. The Bulls went on the road and dismantled American Heritage and 4-star quarterback Neimann Lawrence, who completed less than 50% of his passes and threw a pair of picks.
Next Game: Friday, Sept. 4 at Spanish River (FL), 6:30 p.m. ET
9. Brentwood Academy (TN)
Record: 0-1
The Eagles' defense was exploited, allowing the most points (38) in a game in nearly two years in a three-score loss to Baylor. The sky is not falling for No. 21 Brentwood Academy, which is widely expected to get back on track in Week 2 against Brentwood.

10. Clay-Chalkville (Pinson, AL)
Record: 1-0
The Cougars went on the road and beat a very good Creekside team in Georgia, winning 29-20 after a marathon game that was filled with delays. Clay-Chalkville has a chance to boost its stock even more, when it hits the road to take on Thompson.

11. Chaminade-Madonna (Hollywood, FL)
Record: 1-0
Another team on the watch list heading into this year, Chaminade-Madonna jumps into the rankings for the first time after a 49-22 win over Monarch. Brady Quinn was crisp and efficient, completing 15 of 20 passes for 314 yards and five touchdowns. This week's challenge against Sierra Canyon in the Broward County Classic will be a must follow.

12. Ruston (LA)
Record: 0-0
The Bearcats and tight end Ahmad Hudson are set to make their debut this week, hitting the road to take on Evangel Christian Academy.

13. Dutch Fork (Irmo, SC)
Record: 0-0
Like Ruston, the Silver Foxes are set to kick off their Week 1 this coming Friday against a top 10 team in South Carolina.

14. Creekside (Fairburn, GA)
Record: 0-1
The Seminoles and their offense were stymied for their lowest point total in two years, falling to Clay-Chalkville 29-20. It's hard to penalize Creekside because of the number of delays and because it was a 22-20 game in the fourth quarter, which is why they sit at 14. A win two weeks from now over St. Joseph could bolster them back near the top 10.

15. North Gwinnett (Suwanee, GA)
Record: 1-0
The Bulldogs make their entrance at No. 15 following a win over Grayson at the Corky Kell Classic on Aug. 12, a 37-22 win. That win has since lost a little luster, as the Rams lost again to Sandy Creek, 21-13. Keep an eye on the Bulldogs though this season.
