Matt Miller has been charged with a misdemeanor for the car crash that left him in need of multiple surgeries, including an amputation of his left arm.
Miller is facing charges for failing to drive on the right half of a roadway, resulting in an accident, according to court documents filed in Jasper County, Mo., on Monday, Aug. 10.
The charge for his role in the car accident comes after the Missouri Attorney General's Office launched an investigation into Miller on July 2 that remains ongoing.
Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway confirmed the investigation was centered on complaints that Miller had failed to deliver product – or had provided "minimal product" – to individuals who had paid for camps or to join fantasy football leagues run
by him.
Hanaway also outlined that her office decided to investigate Miller because it was "getting complaints from Missourians that they had been victims of his." A total of 26 complaints have been filed against him thus far.
"It does look like it's going to be a lengthy investigation because there were a lot of transactions," Hanaway explained.
While Miller is being investigated, Hanaway confirmed that a GoFundMe set up in his benefit after the injuries he suffered from the accident that included an amputation of his left arm is not a part of her investigation.
The GoFundMe generated $51,147 before being paused on July 3.

Miller was involved in the serious car accident on June 17, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.
A blue 2023 Ford Bronco allegedly driven by Miller was traveling down Missouri 96 in Jasper County, Missouri, when the vehicle crossed the centerline into the westbound lane in front of an oncoming truck. The truck driver tried to swerve away from the Bronco, but they ultimately collided.
The Bronco veered off the road as a result of the crash. The driver was ejected from the car despite wearing a safety belt, which was cut "due to the extensive damage" to the vehicle.
A witness described the scene in a statement to responding officers, according to a police report obtained by USA TODAY Sports.
"I was leaving my sister's house," the witness said, according to the police report. "I might have been maybe 100 yards behind. I witnessed the Bronco just a hard swerve into the semi’s lane. The semi tried to swerve. It made contact. I haven’t ever seen a car explode like that. I ran to the Bronco and there was no one in the vehicle. I heard groaning behind me. I saw a man laying in the grass. I called 911."
Miller was transported to Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri, by helicopter because of his injuries.
Miller subsequently announced in a July 10 social media post he would "be placed on leave from ESPN" as he focuses on his recovery from the injuries.
"The surgery to remove my left arm was successful with hopes of an eventual prosthetic replacement," Miller wrote on X. "Similarly, the femur and patella surgeries were also successful and the fantastic surgery team was able to save my left leg."
"To best focus on my healing and recovery, I’m stepping away indefinitely and will be placed on leave from ESPN," he continued. "Thank you to all for the prayers and thoughts; please keep them coming."
Miller is due in court on Sept. 21.
