First Lady Melania Trump is headed to Tiger Stadium for LSU football’s Nov. 7 showdown against Alabama.
The visit coincides with a $5 million donation to establish a permanent scholarship fund for LSU students who have experienced foster care. The endowment is part of Trump’s Fostering the Future initiative, which will include a special announcement at LSU and campaign activations across campus and on the field during the Tigers’ rivalry game with Alabama.
"During her visit, Mrs. Trump will attend the highly anticipated LSU Tigers versus Alabama Crimson Tide football game at Tiger Stadium,
where a groundbreaking Fostering the Future campaign will activate across the campus and on the field," the release stated.
President Donald Trump attended the Texas-Tennessee game earlier this season and was scheduled to be at the Georgia-Alabama game before Hurricane Isaias scuppered those plans.
Alabama and LSU are jockeying for College Football Playoff position, with the Crimson Tide getting a surprising No. 5 ranking and the Tigers landing at No. 14. A win in Death Valley for LSU would be its biggest win of the young Lane Kiffin era and vault the Tigers up the rankings.
