Fireplace accessories are being recalled for posing a "risk of serious injury or death from burn and fire hazards," according to a U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission notice.
On Oct. 8, the Takibi propane inserts and lava rocks were recalled after the company received a report that the lava rocks exploded and caused minor property damage, according to the CPSC.
No injuries have been reported related to the recall. However, the report states that the lava rocks may ignite and explode when heated inside the propane insert they were sold with.
Here's what to know about the exact products included in the recall, where they were sold and what consumers should do if they have them.

What products are being recalled?
Takibi propane inserts and lava rocks sold by Snow Peak are being recalled, according to the report.
While an incident was reported in which the lava rocks exploded, no safety concerns or hazards have been reported related to the propane insert.

Where were the recalled products sold?
The products were sold online throughout July 2026 at Snowpeak.com for $350.
What should you do if you purchased the recalled products?
Consumers can either choose to replace the lava rocks or return the lava rocks and propane insert for a full refund.
To receive a refund, consumers should contact Snow Peak by calling its toll-free number, 888-424-4916, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT, Monday through Friday, or by emailing info@snowpeak.com. Consumers who choose to receive a refund will be asked to return the lava rocks and propane insert to the company.
Those who would like to keep the product can instead request replacement lava rocks. Consumers who opt for a replacement can keep the propane insert, and the company will ship a new batch of lava rocks.
Consumers who choose to receive replacements are asked not to use the propane inserts until they receive the new lava rocks and should dispose of the lava rocks "in accordance with any local and state ordinances," the recall stated.
