Adam Kaufman: Saints 27, Falcons 24
Which Falcons offense shows up in New Orleans: the one that barely functioned for two weeks, or the one that demolished Green Bay with Michael Penix Jr. back under center? Bijan Robinson and Drake London each produced 194 yards against the Packers. That's a pretty persuasive argument for the latter. Still, I'm taking the Saints at home. Tyler Shough threw four touchdowns against Las Vegas, but turnovers helped turn a late lead into a 35-27 loss. If New Orleans cleans that up, it has enough offense to trade scores with Atlanta. Travis Etienne Jr.'s hamstring injury makes the backfield worth monitoring. Give me the Saints in another close NFC South game.
Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz: Saints 28, Falcons 27
Atlanta's initial foray into
the prime-time spotlight was far from the disaster that many expected, as Michael Penix Jr.'s return awakened an attack that had been dormant under Cooper Rush. Tyler Shough might have his hands full with a pass rush that ranks third in pressure rate despite the absence of star edge threats James Pearce Jr. and Jalon Walker, but Chris Olave and Juwan Johnson could break open some big opportunities downfield if New Orleans can hold up its protection. After losing both of its contests against Atlanta last season, breaking through here is an essential step for the Saints to affirm their ability to contend for a division crown.
Nicholas Brinkerhoff: Saints 27, Falcons 23
Magic in the air. The Saints are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the 'Domecoming” on Monday night and we should see a similar script play out this time around. The Falcons might have a resurgent offense with Michael Penix Jr. under center and Bijan Robinson running wild, but don't discount this Saints offense either. Tyler Shough is spinning it for an explosive unit, even if it stalled late in Week 3. Unlike the Packers, the Saints are positioned to exploit some of the Falcons' weaknesses on defense to win on an emotional night in the dome.
