Ford Motor Company is recalling thousands of vehicles because of an issue affecting exterior lighting.
According to arecall notice posted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the defect could reduce the driver's visibility or make the vehicle harder for others to see on the road, raising the risk of a crash.
"The headlight assemblies may contain a contaminated LED chip, which can result in a loss of daytime running lights, parking lights, high beams or low beams," the notice says.

Which models are affected by this recall?

According to NHTSA, 41,748 vehicles are potentially affected. The models included are:
- 2025-2027 Ford Expedition
- 2026 Ford F-250 SD
- 2026 Ford F-350 SD
- 2026 Ford F-450 SD
- 2026 Ford F-550 SD
The recall number is 26C43. The safety report noted how drivers could identify the issue: "A dashboard
indicator light will illuminate for customers experiencing inoperative low beam and/or high beam headlamps."
What should car owners do next?
At no charge, car owners can take their vehicles to the dealership to get their headlight assemblies inspected and replaced, if needed.
Notification letters will be sent out on October 26.
