Worlds collide on 'Sunday Night Football.”
It wasn't long ago that the Kansas City Chiefs were the dynasty that everyone was talking about. No one could beat Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid, leaving the rest of the league to battle for Super Bowl runner-up. In some ways, the Chiefs have faded over the last year, and that made room for the Seattle Seahawks to emerge.
Seattle is hoping to ignite a dynasty. However, to become the next dynasty, you must knock off the previous one. And that feels like a tall task with the way the Seahawks are playing right now.
Sam Darnold doesn't look like the same quarterback that led Seattle to a Super Bowl. He struggled in Week 6 against a fierce Broncos defense, bringing back all his bad habits. Was that a sign that he's
turning back into a pumpkin or just tough luck? The Chiefs will be eager to prove the former, making Darnold uncomfortable to keep their undefeated season alive.
Seattle's record might not show it, but these are two heavyweights to close out the Sunday slate. Who will emerge with a statement win?

Seahawks Keys To Victory
Sam Darnold's feet. He is back to his old ways, bouncing around in the pocket and appearing unsure of where to deliver the ball. It's the type of play that we didn't see from the quarterback in 2025 on the road to the Super Bowl. While the Week 7 matchup isn't a Super Bowl, it is a key game for the Seahawks as the division slowly slips away from them. And for as good as this Seattle team is, it's going nowhere if Darnold can't recapture his old magic.
Chiefs Keys To Victory
Keep the pass rush from disappearing. Prior to Week 6, the Chiefs' defense had gone without a sack since Week 1. Granted, there was a bye week, but that is not a winning formula for a team with Super Bowl aspirations. This defense will have to get to the quarterback at some point. They sacked Justin Herbert four times in Week 6. Now they have to get after Darnold and make him uncomfortable.
Injuries to watch
Seahawks
• RB Zach Charbonnet • LB Drake Thomas
Chiefs
• OL Jaylon Moore • OT Josh Simmons • WR Rashee Rice
Seahawks vs Chiefs Prediction
Nicholas Brinkerhoff: Chiefs 24, Seahawks 20
Kenneth Walker gave Seattle fans a reason to smile back in February. On Sunday night, he returns as the one that got away. The Seahawks have looked out of sorts without the Super Bowl 60 MVP all season, and it's even impacting Sam Darnold, who has regressed in 2026. Kansas City isn't without its faults, though. The Chiefs have pass rush issues, a banged-up receiving room and more standing in their way on the road to another Lombardi Trophy. It won't matter on Sunday night, though, because this is the Walker show. And we are all witnesses to it. The Chiefs stay perfect and eke out another win.
Adam Kaufman: Chiefs 23, Seahawks 20
Kenneth Walker III returning to Seattle as a Chief is a pretty good subplot. Patrick Mahomes trying to stay undefeated against this defense is the main event. The defending-champion Seahawks can obviously win, thanks to a defense capable of controlling stretches against anyone, and the home environment should make the Chiefs work for every possession. The problem is trusting Seattle's offense to hold up its end. Sam Darnold's recent turnovers and an inconsistent running game have made life unnecessarily difficult. Zach Charbonnet's potential return could help, but his role remains uncertain. Give me Mahomes to handle the biggest possession, with Walker getting the last laugh against the team that let him walk in the offseason.
