Raiders vs Bills expert picks
Adam Kaufman: Bills 34, Raiders 23
Las Vegas just allowed New England to hang 45 points. Now Josh Allen gets a turn. That's not an especially comforting sequence for Raiders fans. The Bills' shortened week after an overtime win against the Rams is worth considering, but Allen and James Cook have too many ways to attack a defense that needs substantial improvement. The Raiders' quarterback plan needs monitoring after No. 1 pick Fernando Mendoza's debut. Whoever starts will need help from Brock Bowers and a balanced offense to keep Buffalo from running away. I expect Las Vegas to show more fight at home. I also expect the Bills to score enough that a respectable Raiders offensive performance still won't be enough to win.
Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz: Bills 38, Raiders 24
The shine of a 3-0 start might be fading for the Silver and Black. After getting dismantled by the Patriots, the Raiders now face the unenviable task of taking on another high-powered attack. Josh Allen should be able to pick on an inexperienced secondary and also get plenty of mileage out of Buffalo's ground game. Las Vegas could find more success through the air against a Buffalo defense that has repeatedly subjected the team to shootouts, but the Raiders might not have enough ammunition to come out on top.
Nicholas Brinkerhoff: Bills 31, Raiders 23
The shine might be coming off the Raiders. In what has been an awful scheduling spot, Vegas suffered a close loss to the Chiefs, traveled across the country to get blown out by the Patriots and now return home to deal with the Bills, of all teams. Good luck. Buffalo has some defensive issues to work through and that will eventually hurt them down the road. It won't matter in Week 6. Josh Allen's team gets another win out west.
