Mia Goth, Shia LaBeouf relationship history
The pair, who met in 2012 on the set of “Nymphomaniac: Vol. II," have a history of a rocky relationship. In 2015, they made headlines when a video emerged of them fighting and LaBeouf telling Goth he "would have killed" her.
They tied the knot the following year, but filed for divorce in 2018 after LaBeouf and British singer FKA Twigs were spotted out together in London.
LaBeouf's rep told E! News at the time that "the separation is amicable and all details pertaining to the divorce proceedings will remain private." He dated FKA Twigs – who later sued him for sexual battery and assault – for a year before reconciling with Goth and later welcoming their daughter.
Earlier this year, LaBeouf opened up about his split from Goth during an appearance on “Channel 5 With Andrew Callaghan.” He said he "can't speak too much about" the situation, but revealed "we had a lot of resentment."
"We were deeply unhappy," the "Even Stevens" alum said. "I made a lot of mistakes early on before we tried to have baby. I had violated trust in a big, big way, and then we tried to use program – albeit one-sided – to try to fix it, and it was impossible and we both became very unhappy, and it's not good to be unhappy around a baby."
He added: "It's not good to be unhappy around kids, but yet it's important to be proximate. You must be around, and this became quite a weird Tetris."
This came weeks after LaBeouf was arrested in New Orleans following a bar fight during Mardi Gras festivities. Police said he allegedly assaulted one man when he was kicked out of a bar and later returned to the area, where he hit the same man a second time and punched another in the nose.
LaBeouf was released on $100,000 bond and a judge ordered him to enter treatment and participate in weekly drug tests, which his attorney said he passed on-site that day, the Associated Press reported at the time.
In June, the actor pleaded guilty to three misdemeanor counts of simple battery. He was given a six-month suspended sentence and two years' probation.
