Alabama quarterback Keelon Russell wasn't able to lead the seventh-ranked Crimson Tide to an upset of No. 2 Georgia on Saturday, Oct. 10.
But the sophomore quarterback's play on the field in the 20-17 loss – and his actions off of it – still earned the respect of Bulldogs fans and neutral observers alike.
Video captured on the field shows the talented signal-caller waiting several moments for Gunner Stockton to finish a postgame interview so he could congratulate his Georgia counterpart on the win. Here's a look:

"Win or lose, I have respect for any opponent,
no matter what," Russell told reporters in a postgame news conference. "Gunner Stockton is an amazing player. Guy's a baller. I have respect for anybody that we play, so I want to give my dues to him, that, 'Hey man you're a great player.'"
Russell also declined to lay the blame for Alabama's loss on what has largely been considered a controversial officiating effort by the SEC crew manning the game. Speaking to reporters after the game, he said there "were no controversial calls" in the loss.

Though he was largely stymied against the Bulldogs, Russell showcased his explosiveness and made enough plays to keep Alabama in a hard-fought game against what will surely be the No. 1-ranked team in the Week 7 US LBM Coaches Poll and AP Top 25.
He completed 16 of 30 passes for 185 yards and a touchdown, adding nine rushes for 41 yards on the night.
Said Georgia coach Kirby Smart of Russell's play: "There’s no containing Russell. That kid is an elite athlete and an elite player. … He didn’t have some of the numbers he’s had but he’s a really good football player and he’s going to be hell on this league for two years."
