You're all set to go to the Pittsburgh Steelers' first game of the 2026 season. You've purchased your tickets, you're wearing your favorite player's jersey and you have your Terrible Towel in hand. But what's the best way to get to the game at Acrisure Stadium? And where should you park?
The answer to those questions depends on where you're coming from and how much you're willing to spend. There are a variety of options for parking and getting to and from Steelers games, including public transit.
Here's what to know.
Where can I park for the Steelers game?
There are various options for parking for a Steelers game. It may be cheaper to park offsite walk to the stadium or take public transit
to the game rather than parking at the stadium, according to the stadium's website.
Pre-sold parking is available for season ticket holders through ALCO Parking. For those looking to buy pre-sold parking for individual games, use JustPark. This parking is available in multiple locations around the stadium, including at the North Lincoln Lot on North Lincoln Avenue and Champions Garage on the west side of Mazeroski Way with access on North Shore Drive.
Pay parking can be found at numerous locations. Lots Green 31, Green 33, Blue 7F, Blue 7G, Blue 7H, Blue 7J, CCAC, North Blue Canal, Nova Place Garage and Rivers Casino are card only. To see a complete map of parking options, visit the stadium's website.
How much does it cost to park at the Steelers game?
As of Sept. 11, parking for the Steelers' Sept. 13 game started at $13.80, though most parking was sold out.
Off-site parking costs range depending on the location. Apps like SpotHero and ParkWhiz can help you compare parking costs are different locations.
How early should I park at the Steelers game?
Stadium officials suggest getting to the stadium at least two hours early to avoid last-minute traffic. Kickoff is 1 p.m. ET on Sept. 13.
Can I take public transit to the Steelers game?
Yes. You can take Pittsburgh's Light Rail to the North Shore and walk to the game. The Light Rail is free to ride from Downtown. You can also park for free in the South Hills and ride the Light Rail from there.
Can I take the Gateway Clipper to the Steelers game?
Yes. Park in Station Square Garage or West Lot, then take the Gateway Clipper to Acrisure Stadium. A one-way ticket is $7.50, while a round-trip ticket is $15, according to Gateway Clipper's website.
The Gateway Clipper's shuttle to Acrisure Stadium begins boarding three hours prior to the game. Coming back, it begins boarding at the beginning of the 4th quarter and runs for one hour after the game.
What routes should I avoid before, after Steelers games?
The exact route you take depends on what direction you're coming from or returning. Map your route using apps like Google Maps, Apple Maps or Waze to get real-time updates on traffic. You can also check Acrisure Stadium's social media accounts, where travel information updates will be posted.
Acrisure Stadium officials recommend avoiding I-279 Northbound and Southbound Exit 1B to shave off some travel time.
