Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyquan Thornton (ankle, leg) suffered an apparent dislocated or fractured left ankle after being tackled from behind on a long reception in Week 4 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Thornton was down for a while after being his body weight and his tackler land on his left foot. He attempted to get up and celebrate his long reception, then noticed the injury, as his foot was pointed in a different direction. An offensive lineman checked on him, after he crumped to the ground, and he pointed to the injury once the adrenaline wore off.
Prior to the injury, Thornton had managed five receptions for 111 yards and two touchdowns on eight targets, stepping up for wide receiver Rashee Rice, who left the game earlier.

Why it Matters: Thornton was going crazy, having a huge statistical afternoon, but now his season is likely over, or he'll at least be sidelined for an extended period. It's uncertain how long Rice will miss, if he is also forced to the shelf. That could open the door for Xavier Worthy to step up.
