Elizabeth Holmes, her partner Billy Evans and their two children are the focus of the new, nearly three-hour long documentary, "You Can See Everything."
For the documentary now in theaters, directors Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim spent 34 days with Holmes, the disgraced Theranos CEO, before she went to prison in 2023. Through the documentary is centered on Holmes leading up to her prison sentence, Evans is a prominent figure throughout, as the documentary is filmed, largely, inside of the couple's San Diego home.
"There's been a lot of media produced on her. There's been a lot of people who have told her story and that narrative is pretty ossified. The whole idea was, 'Here she is, see her and make up your own mind,'" Evans said of the documentary
during an interview on the All-In Podcast, released on Oct. 14. Evan goes on to describe the documentary as capturing "one of the most stressful times imaginable" in the couple's life.
Holmes, now 42, was convicted on one count of conspiracy to defraud investors and three counts of wire fraud in relation to the multibillion-dollar Silicon Valley tech startup she founded in 2003. Holmes promised cheap, portable blood tests for all, marketed as the "iPod of healthcare." Though none of the tests actually worked.
In October 2015, the Wall Street Journal published a series of investigations into Thernaos, which kickstarted multiple class action lawsuits against Holmes and COO Sunny Balwani. Thernaos dissolved and federal charges were filed against Holmes in 2018. She went to trial in 2021 and was convicted in 2022, sentenced to 11 years in prison. "You Can See Everything" was shot during the period before Holmes went to prison.
In September, Holmes was approved to move to a halfway house, Austin Transitional Center, in Del Valle, Texas on Aug. 23, 2027, according to ABC News reporting. She is currently held at the Federal Prison Camp Bryan in Texas, with a scheduled release on Feb. 22, 2030.

Who is Billy Evans?
Evans, 33, is Holmes' long-term partner. The two have been engaged since 2018.
"I asked him 20 times if he wanted to spend his life with me," Holmes told People magazine of Evans inside a Texas prison in February 2025. "There were a million reasons why not."
Evans is the grandson of William and Anne Evans, founders of the luxury hotel group Evans Hotels, which according to the hotel's website was founded in 1953.
According to his LinkedIn, Evans studied economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2010 to 2015. He has worked at LinkedIn and Luminar Technologies, a self-driving car company, and today is the CEO of Haemanthus, a new blood-testing start-up.

Holmes and Evans first met in October 2017 at a Fleet Week party, a charity event for San Francisco Fleet Week, an annual event in which active-duty military ships tour coastal cities for tours, air shows and parades, Evans said during the All-In Podcast interview. Evans said the two spoke during the rooftop event for two and a half to three hours. At the time, Holmes was still under federal investigation.
Upon initially meeting, Evans said he didn't realize who Holmes was.
"I don't know if I can say I fell in love with her in that moment, but she was just incredible," Evans said during the podcast interview. "Her ability to listen and really care about everything that you're saying − she made you feel so seen. She was infinitely curious about the smallest things that nobody else really cared about."
Evans added during the interview that Holmes shared her business card with him at the party because he was interested in renting out the Thernaos headquarters.
"She crossed out her cell phone number on it and wrote, 'personal cell,' and I was like, 'Huh, maybe this just isn't business,'" Evans continued.
Over the course of six months the two went on walks together, getting to know each other more, Evans said. By August 2018, the two were engaged.
